Forming in a rosette shape, Echeveria 'Lola' boasts a robust appearance resembling pearlescent marble with rosy, blushing undertones. How to care for Echeveria 'Lola' (Rare)
Sun: Adequate sunlight and temperature variation are crucial for succulent leaf coloration. Echeveria 'Lola' requires 5-6 hours of bright, direct sunlight and indirect light daily. Morning sunlight is gentler compared to the stronger midday and afternoon sun, so it is advisable to provide direct sunlight in the morning and indirect sunlight in the afternoon. Strong afternoon sunlight in summer may cause spotting on Echeveria 'Lola' leaves; shading may be necessary.
Temperature: Like other succulents, Echeveria 'Lola' cannot survive outdoors in cold winters. When temperatures drop below 30°F in winter, move indoors near a window or under a plant grow light for maximum sunlight. High summer temperatures require attention; besides shading, placing the plant in a well-ventilated area can help cool it down.
Soil/Pot: To keep the health of Echeveria 'Lola,' it should be grown in well-draining succulent or cactus soil mixtures that are also well-aerated. You can make your mix by combining one part potting soil with one part perlite, gravel, or sand. The pot for Echeveria 'Lola' must have drainage holes.
Watering: Succulents do not require frequent watering. Prolonged exposure to a moist environment can lead to bacterial infection and rot in Echeveria 'Lola'. The recommended watering method is the "soak and dry" technique. In addition, watering frequency should be carefully controlled, especially in summer and winter.
Propagation: Echeveria 'Lola' can be propagated from leaf cuttings, with spring and autumn being optimal growth seasons for faster rooting. Begin by sterilizing hands or using gloves to carefully remove healthy, plump leaves from Echeveria 'Lola.' Place the cuttings in a tray in a cool, shaded area to dry and heal the wounds for 2-3 days. Afterward, apply a touch of cinnamon to the scars. Plant the leaves in dry soil and keep them in a bright, indirect light environment, using a spray bottle to maintain soil moisture. Roots should develop within 2-3 weeks, producing a complete Echeveria 'Lola.'
